St. Albans

Once known as the “Railroad City”, St. Albans is the end of the line for Amtrak’s Vermonter line to Washington, D.C. Though St. Albans is not still a major depot for rail traffic it has maintained it’s historic charm in the downtown and surrounding hillside neighborhoods where it shows off it’s Victorian and Craftsman style architecture. St. Albans is home to 14th Star Brewing Company, the annual Vermont Maple Festival and a summer concert series in the park. As the last major city before the Canadian border, St. Albans is a hub for some of northwestern Vermont’s smaller towns and villages.
